After my well is drilled, I think I will apply for a building permit for this simple home. It looks straight forward and easy to build with a simple rectangular shape. I have asked the designer to add more windows in Bedroom 1, the bathroom and the kitchen. The attic over the front porch would make a cool loft bedroom.

I am putting Insulation in my First Building!!!
It’s a Bird. It’s a Plane. No, it’s SUPERMOM!!!!! I am the putting insulation in the 10 x 16 foot deluxe shed built on my new property. I don’t have a staple gun to secure the insulation so I am using duct tape….. 🙂

UPDATE: Today I finished putting the insulation in the shed. Next Week Drywall!
Next week I will also start putting insulation in my Tiny House on a trailer! 🙂
A New Shed Was Built On My Land Today!
On This Lovely Day
I am taking a moment to Re-Focus on why I have chosen this path. It is not just a physical journey, but also a spiritual journey.
Here is one of my favorite songs from the Movie “Brother Sun Sister Moon”
“This Lovely Day”
Birds are singing sweet and low
From the trees that gently grow,
Soft and soothing breezes blow
On this lovely day.
To the meadows there go I
To wander as the butterfly
How the flowers please me eyes
On this lovely day.
I wish it could be always
Life is easy on such a day
I wish this peace on everyone
On this lovely day,
On this lovely day.
I wish this peace on everyone
On this lovely day.
My Garden is Producing Veggies!!!
Slowly Working On My Land
I have been working on my new property. Today I pulled out weeds, and put in 10 stepping stones. It will make a nice little entrance to walk in when I have the driveway gate closed. I still need to put gravel around the stepping stones so the weeds won’t grow back.
UPDATE: The gravel is in now!

Here are some flowers growing naturally on my property. I love springtime!
Doing Dirt Work, and I am now a Grandmother!
The bulldozer took out the big bump in the driveway and made a nice smooth grade up the hill.
This will be my Tiny House site, surrounded by beautiful trees!
Here is a graveled campsite area so my Tiny House friends can come and visit me!
OK, I know it is off the Tiny House and Sustainability topic, but my oldest daughter had a baby yesterday!!!! He is my FIRST EVER Grandchild!!! 🙂
A Door for My Tiny House!
My builder guy went to the salvage construction materials store and found this beautiful solid wood door from the 1930s! He also found antique brass hardware, and an old style doorknob for it. I will polish the door with an oil wood restoration product. It is going to look great with the cedar siding.
With the Tiny House windows going in, we are coming down the home stretch. We even have insulation for the walls. Fun!
Creating Mortgage Freedom: An E-Course
The most important thing I got out of the Mortgage Freedom e-course: COURAGE. I believe I can do it!
“The Plan: Creating Mortgage Freedom” is an e-course taught by Karl and Hari Berzins of Tiny House Family. After losing their restaurant and declaring bankruptcy, Karl and Hari found a very creative way to start over. Saving diligently and buying land with cash, they built a Tiny House and their family of 4 moved in. While living in their Tiny House they slowly worked on building a larger home and developing their homestead. They have a fantastic garden where they grow most of their own food.
Karl and Hari created the e-course as a road map to help others find their own pathway to Mortgage Freedom. They lead by example, honestly sharing their own experiences. They never promise the process will be easy or quick, only that with perseverance it can be accomplished. The class covers everything from setting goals, to finding land, to building and zoning issues. During the course I became a part of a supportive community of people from all over the world who are doing the same thing. We still share our successes and milestones with each other!
